Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Do you like nuts? It is considered a light food that is beneficial to human health if it is eaten in specific quantities as part of a healthy diet. But sometimes they are a source of food contaminants, such as mycotoxins.
And the Food and Drug Authority in Saudi Arabia, in a tweet on “Twitter”, addressed some advice and instructions that must be taken into account.
- Buy from trusted places and avoid street vendors
- Stored in dry, airtight plastic bags

They are considered toxic compounds that are naturally produced by some types of fungi when the appropriate environmental conditions for their growth are available, such as temperature and the appropriate humidity during storage.
The Food and Drug Authority in Saudi Arabia stated that these mycotoxins are among the chemical pollutants that may cause diseases in humans when consumed.
Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Health warned, through its official website, of an allergy to nuts, which are the most common allergens.
