Putin announced that Russia suspends its participation in the nuclear disarmament treaty

President Vladimir Putin announced Tuesday that Russia suspends its participation in the treaty nuclear disarmament New Start and threatened to carry out new nuclear tests if the United States did them first.

“Russia suspends its participation in the new Start treaty,” Putin said in an expected state of the nation address, calling on Russian authorities to be “ready for nuclear weapons tests” if the United States conducts them first.

Three days following the war in Ukraine turns one year old, the Russian president has assured that he will achieve his objectives “Step by Step”although he has recognized that Russia is going through a moment “difficult”. Once once more he has blamed the western countries:

“I want to repeat once once more: it is they who started the war. And we have used and are using force to stop it. We defend people’s lives, our homeland, and the goal of the West is rampant domination. They have already spent more $150 billion to incite and arm the Kiev regime”.

He has hinted that the conflict is far from over. The so-called special military operation by Russia, which was to last a week, is the cruelest war on European soil since World War II. And, regarding to turn one year old, there is no solution in sight in the short or medium term.
