- Vladimir Putin is due to deliver a major annual speech on Tuesday, February 21 before the Russian political elite, an event which should be largely devoted to the war in Ukraine. The Russian offensive launched almost a year ago, which was supposed to be lightning, quickly got bogged down.
- US President Joe Biden arrived in Poland on Monday evening by train from Ukraine, following his surprise visit to kyiv, announced the Polish agency PAP. He arrived following 8:30 p.m. local time at Przemysl station in the southeast of the country, PAP said. He then flew to Warsaw.
- Emmanuel Macron told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday that he would support his peace plan, during a telephone conversation between the two heads of state. - France will deliver AMX-10 light tanks to kyiv by the end of the week. In an interview at Parisianthe Minister for the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, spoke of the need “to give Ukraine the means to defend itself”repeating that there was “no taboo”including on possible future deliveries of combat aircraft.
- According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, 461 children have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the war almost a year ago, and 924 have been injured. The highest number of casualties was recorded in Donetsk Oblast in the east of the country, where 445 children were killed or injured. According to the prosecutor, these figures are provisional.
- Three people died, and five were injured, Sunday morning during Russian strikes on the village of Bourhounka, near Kherson (South)the administration of Kherson oblast announced on Telegram.
- Beijing is considering supplying arms to Russia to support its offensive in Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned on Sunday.following a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
