The mayor of the Coronel commune is waiting for the analysis of the dozens of drums found in the hills that might contain a flammable liquid.
A 8,000 hectares consumed by fires the number of affectation that has plagued the commune of Coronel, in the Bío Bío region, since last Friday.
The foregoing, specifically when the forest fire called “Santa Anna”, the best known and registered in the area.
As confirmed by Conaf, resources have been concentrated in this place, especially in highly populated and rural sectors.
Example of these are Patagual, San José de Palco and La Quebrada, localities that have seen how the flames approach the roads of La Ruta de la Madera.
The tankers carried out regarding 15 discharges in total, together with AT planes and large-wing helicopters to combat these fires in Coronel.
All this linked to this great fire where the discovery of more than 60 drums with an unknown liquid also drew attention.
As detailed by Carabineros personnel throughout the day, it was specifically regarding 69 containers that will be investigated by Labocar to find out what their content is.
In the opinion of the local authorities, it might be an indication or element similar to a accelerating the flammable liquid.
