FDI increases by 14.5% in January

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Chinese mainland in actual use rose 14.5 percent year on year to nearly 127.69 billion yuan in January, the Ministry of Commerce said Monday.

In dollars, this flow increased by 10% over one year, to 19.02 billion dollars.

High-tech industries experienced a rapid rise in FDI of 62.8% in January. Specifically, FDI in the high-tech manufacturing industry jumped 74.5%, and those in the high-tech service sector soared 59.6%.

FDI in the central region of the country increased by 25.9% on an annual basis, followed by 21.6% in the western region. F
