The Ministry of Transport responded to the proposal of Ca Mau voters on upgrading and expanding National Highway 63

(PLO)- For the investment proposal to upgrade and expand National Highway 63, the section through Ca Mau province, the Ministry of Transport noted and will study the investment at an appropriate time when the capital source is balanced.

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a written response to voters’ petitions in Ca Mau province regarding a number of traffic projects in the province.

Specifically, voters of Ca Mau province suggested the Ministry of Transport soon plan to invest in National Highway 63, a section through the province (which coincides with Ho Chi Minh Road). Besides, upgrading and expanding the inner part of Ca Mau city (section from ward 9 to Tan Xuyen ward) because now this section has too much traffic, frequent congestion and causes many traffic accidents.

National Highway 63 has a length of regarding 110 km, connecting the two provinces of Kien Giang and Ca Mau.

Responding to the above proposal, the Ministry of Transport said the need for investment in transport infrastructure in Ca Mau city (from Km 110+323.28 to Km 112+782.59, including Phung Hiep bridge). capital has been allocated in the medium-term public investment plan for the period of 2021-2025. This project is invested by the Department of Transport of Ca Mau province, has been basically completed and is undergoing acceptance procedures and put into operation.

Regarding the proposal to invest in upgrading and expanding National Highway 63, the section through the province, the Ministry of Transport said that the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period approved by the National Assembly was very limited. Accordingly, resources are mainly focused on important and urgent motivational projects according to the principles and criteria of the National Assembly and the Government. Therefore, it is not possible to balance the arrangement for this project in the current period.

“The Ministry of Transport recognizes and will study the investment at an appropriate time when the capital source is balanced. We hope that the National Assembly delegation and voters of Ca Mau province will sympathize and share. The Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to review, evaluate, strengthen the maintenance and improvement of the road surface to ensure the travel demand on the route,” – the Ministry of Transport replied to voters in Ca Mau province.

National Highway 63 has a route length of regarding 110 km, connecting the two provinces of Kien Giang and Ca Mau, starting at Tac Cau junction (intersection with Highway 61, in Minh Luong town, Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province). ).

National Highway 63 passes through An Bien, U Minh Thuong, Vinh Thuan (Kien Giang province), Thoi Binh district (Ca Mau province) and ends at ward 9, Ca Mau city, Ca Mau province.
