How to enable silent mode on Facebook?

Facebook launched quiet mode or silent mode on Android and IOS systems last Thursday. This mode allows users to mute all notifications for a certain period of time. For those who have subscribed to many services that constantly send them notifications, this is a good solution to stay focused.

This option was under test for over a month before officially launching. It will be available for iOS users in a few days and Android users therefollowing.

What is silent mode and how does it work?

Once silent mode is activated, the app screen will dissipate behind a full-screen notification to remind you to set the remaining time in silent mode. While Facebook already allows you to mute my notifications, silent mode allows you to specify the duration of silencing notifications.

If you want to disable silent mode, go to settings and then manage silent mode.

It should also be added that the silent mode does not allow all notifications to be muted because the company undertakes to allow some notifications to be displayed, in particular those relating to user privacy.

How to enable silent mode on Facebook?

Every user can enable silent mode on Facebook through the app by following these instructions:

  • Click on the main menu icon
  • Switch down. Up to settings and privacy.
  • Click on the Manage your time option.
  • You will be faced with two choices, namely: quiet mode or silent mode and the silent mode schedule which prompts you to select the days and times to mute the notifications.
  • Once activated, you will receive a reminder notification and the remaining time to complete the notification mutation process.

An alternative to Facebook’s silent mode?

For people who cannot use silent mode on Facebook, they can always use third-party applications such as Do Not Disturb or airplane mode.
