Skonec, a company specializing in VR (virtual reality) game development, is preparing to lead the metaverse game market by utilizing AI (artificial intelligence) technology. The first AI character will be released in VR FPS (first-person shooter) ‘Strike Rush’, which is being jointly developed with Meta.
According to the game industry on the 20th, Skonek plans to introduce AI-applied sub-characters to ‘Strike Rush’. It is responsible for transmitting and receiving information by the player’s side and taking on the role of helping.
This is because ‘Strike Rush’ aims to be a network game that 8 players can access and enjoy on cross platforms such as Sony and Nintendo as well as meta. The plan is to increase the fun of users and stable game operation by introducing AI characters.

Skonek is trying to apply AI to ‘Strike Rush’, love simulation, and metaverse platform. In particular, if ‘Strike Rush’, which is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2024 and is supported by meta development costs, becomes a global success, it is expected to be an opportunity to publicize Skonec’s technological prowess.
In addition, Skonec is preparing to expand its publishing business by taking advantage of being Korea’s first listed VR game development company. It means that it can play a role in discovering VR game development companies that apply AI technology and supplying them to the meta platform.
Hana Securities expects Skonec to begin selling VR games and contents in earnest from 2023. Globuck Big Tech, including Meta, predicted that the development of XR devices would continue and the importance of securing content would increase.
Cho Jeong-hyun, a researcher at Hana Securities, said, “The number of games serviced in Meta Quest 2 exceeds regarding 200, and as the publishing is very selective, this joint development is judged to prove Skonec’s development ability.”
