Taliban ban on contraceptives, world

Kabul:The Taliban has banned contraceptives in two major cities in Afghanistan. The British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ reported that the ban is in the capital Kabul and Masaret Sharif.

The Taliban claim that contraceptives are a conspiracy by the West to reduce the Muslim population. A shopkeeper said they had stopped selling them in Kabul because armed Taliban regularly raided shops. The Guardian reported that another shop owner in Kabul said he had been banned from stocking contraceptives since February and was afraid to even sell existing stock.
