In this apartment designed by architect Marina Vilaça, the atmosphere is one of joy and relaxation. Therefore, the hammock gained prominence in the corner of the room, very close to the window.
This is Joanna Moura’s apartment in London, designed by architects Bia Guedes and Francine Jubran, from Studio Olo. The resident wanted to bring Brazilianness and a tropical atmosphere to her London home, so the architects did a great job in choosing colors, prints and, of course, the net.
Colors and a collection of personal objects, full of history and affection, were the starting point for the office professionals Sertão Architect when it comes to renovating this apartment, in the interior of São Paulo. And the inspiration mightn’t be more special: the Serra da Mantiqueira, framed by the window. So, a hammock might not be missing in the room to enjoy this view.
Signed by the architect Luize Materathis apartment was designed to welcome and be happy, at the request of customers. “The owners have several objects of sentimental value and wanted them to be displayed to enrich the room with memories. A well-positioned network was one of the project’s main requests and opposes the corner of the home office, ”she says.

“My client’s dream was to have an apartment where she might relax and that was just like her”, reveals the interior designer. Gabriela Pires. Another wish of the resident was to have a hammock, even in a small space — the property has 40 m2. “She loves the beach, meditation, nature and we wanted to convey this with the fake beams we made with drywall on the balcony ceiling, something that evoked the pergola, the beach and the sea”, details Gabriela.
O Maré Studio, commanded by the architect Lívia Leite, this 70 m2 apartment, in the Vila Clementino neighborhood, in São Paulo, is designed for a young woman, who wanted small interventions. “The apartment delivered on the plan was serious and cold and the client wanted it to be more like her, relaxed and light”, comments the architect. The hammock, positioned on the porch, came in to help create this climate.
The inspiration for this apartment was the origin of the residents: the couple is from the interior of Piauí and moved to Brasília because of work. Who was in charge of the project was the office address 3112. One of the customers’ requests was to transform the living and dining rooms into a daily family environment, including a hammock for moments of rest.
