iPhone 14 Pro now has isolated TrueDepth module repair

Last year, the Apple now enables authorized repair centers to replace the TrueDepth camera module alone, which houses the Face ID and front camera components. This allowed (in the contemplated countries, that is) that this very important part of the iPhones repaired individually, without the need to replace the entire device.

With the launch of iPhone 14 line, however, this possibility did not yet apply to new devices, as it takes a few months for Apple to add support for performing certain repairs following a new device is released. According to 9to5Macthis deficiency is behind us — at least in parts.

The site was privy to an internal memo in which Apple announced to employees that TrueDepth camera module replacements are now available for repairs on iPhones 14 Pro e 14 Pro Max — which means that Apple Authorized Service Centers can now replace components without having to replace the entire device.

The novelty, however, only applies to owners of the most expensive models of the latest iPhones, so the iPhones 14 and 14 Plus have not yet been included. In that memo, Apple made it clear that it will inform its teams when the repair of the TrueDepth camera module of the cheaper models becomes available.
