Drunk wrong-way driver stopped without a license

The Bosnian was driving the wrong way around 11:20 p.m. on the Wiener Bundesstraße (B1) in Traun, his vehicle was illuminated with warning signs. A police patrol became aware of the car and followed the car with blue lights and a follow-up horn. The 35-year-old drove on towards Linz at far too high a speed. The wrong-way driver endangered at least five oncoming vehicles that were driving on the A1 in the direction of Wels. Their drivers are asked to contact the Traun police on 059133 4130.

At an intersection, the man turned left onto Haidfeldstrasse and turned off the lights on his car. The police managed to stop the car there. During the check, it turned out that the driver did not have a driver’s license. An alcohol test also showed a value of 1.28 per mille. The car key was taken from the 35-year-old. He is reported for endangering physical safety in road traffic and other offenses.
