At Marcel-Pagnol school, parents all have their place with games

They discover the following-school leisure centers and facilitators around coffee-meetings.

Coffee-meetings in following-school leisure centers (ALP) are back in the schools of Frontignan La Peyrade. After 3 years of abstinence, these moments when the parents meet the organizers and leaders of the ALP were able to resume in each school.

Discuss with the facilitators

“Bringing parents into the school is important notes Claudie Minguez, first assistant delegate to the educating city. They have their place there and have concerns that need to be heard. During these coffee-meetings, they discover the activities offered by the city’s organizers, often supported by speakers from local associations. And they can exchange directly with the animators themselves, this generates a bond, beneficial to the children.”

In La Peyrade, the elementary school Marcel Pagnol wanted to organize this time of exchange, not around a coffee but around games that the children themselves created during the ALP time during the previous weeks. “With this device, parents can enter the school and play board games with their children and the animators explains Lara, deputy head of the ALP. It is a time when the dialogue is easier because the parents agree a moment with us and the children. And kids can show off their creations: the ladder snake game, mahjong made with self-hardening clay, little horses. All this takes place in the “abcd” room, where the morning and evening receptions and the manual activities on the meridian time take place.

An event on April 15

Children enjoy seeing their parents on school grounds. They are happy to show “their territory” and this allows parents to better visualize the daily life of their toddlers. This device makes it possible to establish more open relationships, well beyond “hello, good evening”, when you drop off or pick up your child at the school door.

In the same spirit, the children’s service will organize an event day on April 15 at the Mouettes leisure center. Entitled “The paths of childhood”, it will be a meeting dedicated to parents to get to know each other better and to create links, with many activities such as the choir which will involve 3 classes from the Marcel Pagnol school.
