As indicated by the deputy commander of the Fire Department Fernando Mateos, the accident originated in the garage of the building located on the ground floor: “Four cars and a transformer in the building were completely affected,” the officer explained to the press.

Francisca, another of the neighbors, described: “It was heard as if something had fallen and the smell of smoke began to be smelled. There, we automatically began to talk among the neighbors and say that there was a smell of smoke. Then we began to go out, but when some of us wanted to lower the smoke, it was already impressive”.
“I might not go down, on the stairs I met two neighbors and we came to the apartment of one of them. Here the smoke did not reach as much because we are on the top floor, on the eighth,” he explained.
