A few months ago, pellet prices soared following strong demand in 2022. Blame it on the energy crisis, the Russian embargo, and the fear of power cuts this winter.
If prices remain high compared to 2021 (regarding twice as expensive), prices start to come down. Now, according to retailers, it is possible to find a 15 kilo bag for less than 10 euros. “Last year, at the height of the crisis, we were around 10.50 euros per bag. Currently, we offer a bag for 6.75 euros. For consumers, this is good news. We got more customers since the price went down“, explains Jo Piron, a salesman in the Liège region.
