Man City falls into the trap of Nottingham and Chelsea continues to collapse

Defending champion Manchester City wasted two points and finished top of the English Premier League with a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, the owner of the land, and in another match, Chelsea continued to collapse, losing to bottom club Southampton.

In the first match, Bernardo Silva led City with a shot from outside the penalty area in the 41st minute.

Although Man City dominated the game, Chris Wood, who joined from Newcastle United last month, equalized for the landlord in the 84th minute.

City needed to win to regain the summit, following Arsenal’s exciting 4-2 victory over Aston Villa earlier today, but now it has 52 points from 24 games and ranks second, two points behind the summit.

And at Stamford Bridge, bottom club Southampton increased the pressure on Chelsea with James Ward-Prowse’s goal.

The referee called Cesar Azpilicueta a foul, and Ward-Prowse fired the ball over the wall into the goal in the first minute of first-half stoppage time.

Azpilicueta fell in the second half due to a head injury and was treated for regarding ten minutes by doctors from both teams before he was taken out on a stretcher.

Chelsea, who scored four goals in ten matches in all competitions since the beginning of the new year, was the better party in the second half, and almost equalized by Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz.

But despite spending regarding 300 million pounds ($361.05 million) in January, Chelsea failed to score at home, led by interim coach Robin Seyes, following the dismissal of Nathan Jones last week.

Chelsea’s balance stopped at 31 points in tenth place, while Southampton is still in last place and has 18 points, three points behind safety.
