Due to the eviction operation of the protest of retirees from the Río Negro police on Route 22 in Cervantes and the apprehension of one of the protesters, the Autonomous CTA expressed its repudiation, demanded the release of the detainees and the payment of the Austral Zone.
This morning, minutes before 7, in an operation carried out by members of the Federal Police in Cervantes, the picket that the retired provincial police officers had maintained for 10 days was evicted, where Rubén Ángel Muñoz was arrested.
After the operation, the retirees regrouped this morning in front of the Roca Road Safety Corps to demand the release of Muñoz and sustain the claim for the payment of the benefit.
For its part, the Autonomous CTA expressed its solidarity with the ex-policeman’s claim and expressed its repudiation of the eviction, while He pointed out the situation to the “Federal Justice and the inaction of the Government of the Province”. He in turn demanded “the immediate release of all detainees”.
“The practices of macrismo return to the province of Río Negro. Conflicts that politics cannot or does not want to resolve are resolved by force. Federal Justice persecutes workers who are also denied the right to unionize and the national and provincial governments ignore”, said Rodrigo Vicente, general secretary of the Autonomous CTA.
He added that the Río Negro police officers “have been systematically denied the right to unionize, a situation that should continue to be debated, but which Urgent care must be taken to avoid overflows and situations like today’s in which workers subject to rights are repressed and detained”.
On the other hand, he remarked that by not having the recognition of Zona Austral, workers’ wages are depreciated by 40%. “Justice ruled in numerous cases in favor of the payment of Zona Austral for police officers and yet neither the national government nor the provincial state have found a solution for them”, finally remarked the leader.
