Actually, I didn’t want to write a post regarding the 8th blog birthday. But then yesterday I spontaneously decided to publish a few lines regarding this birthday. Nowadays it is not at all self-evident that a blog can celebrate an eight-year anniversary.
Is the 8th blog birthday a reason to celebrate? I guess so! Let’s raise a glass to an exciting life that has seen many ups and downs as well.
When I wrote my first blog post on December 29, 2014 with Lady 50plus – topic “New Year’s Eve styling for women 50plus” (click here for a reminder) – I had absolutely no idea where this journey was going. I wanted to make my knowledge as an image consultant for many years accessible to a wider audience than just my numerous seminar participants.
Since I enjoyed writing so much when I was 9 years old, it was an obvious choice to start a blog. At the age of 9 I taught myself how to type with what was then a mechanical typewriter. Eventually I had so many thoughts in my head that I wanted to write a book. Well, the book hasn’t come to fruition (yet), but putting all my blog posts together would make a massive tome.
8 years ago I didn’t know how to blog professionally at all. I just started with WordPress. Step-by-step – just as it was to be read in the instructions. If I had known how many people blog, I certainly wouldn’t have started it.
But as you know, that’s history. And it often has advantages if you don’t know everything from the start.
In the whole 8 years Lady 50plus I present women over 30 what is inside of us. Whether taller, smaller, thinner, not so thin, curvy or narrow – every lady should have fun “simply looking good”.
In the course of time, I noticed that topics such as “modern manners” also go down well with my readers. Since I am a certified etiquette trainer, I can pass on valuable information on this.
The subject of “travel” mightn’t be left out, because I’m on the road so much and I like it. Whether by ship on numerous cruises, city trips, or the beautiful Merano region, these are just a few of my favorite destinations. It is important for all topics, cooperations, recommendations that I report authentically.
It is always a great pleasure how many people read my posts. I never thought of quitting, even though numerous bloggers around me are no longer active and their blogs no longer exist. A lot has changed since Corona, especially the cooperation with different companies and my seminar activities.
Once Upon a time …
There will definitely be a bigger blog birthday party in two years. But until then I still have some time to come up with something very special for you.
Some of you probably still remember the MEET AND GREET for the 4th blog birthday – HERE to read. It was great to see some of you live. And let’s see how the 10th blog birthday will be.
I am still in regular contact with some of the ladies in the picture. Unfortunately, some have completely disappeared from the scene, which I think is a shame. But everything has its time…
8th blog birthday – what’s next?
I just carry on as before. There will be months when there are many topics that I find interesting and that I want to share with you. But there will also be months that will be a little smaller in terms of blogging. There will be some changes for me in the next year and other priorities will often play a major role. But I will definitely always publish a post every Sunday.
