In the Liesinger recording studio El Corredor, no wishes are left unfulfilled, from vocal training and writing workshops to classic sound recording.
VIENNA/LIESING. Small but fine – that’s the motto at Studio El Corredor at Brunner Straße 75 in Liesing. The passionate sound engineer, musician, composer and author Wolfgang R. Zissler pitched his tents in an extensive industrial building at the beginning of 2022, following ten years of studio operation in Hernals.
The name “El Corredor” does not come from anywhere. Translated, the word means “the runner”: “I’m a passionate marathon runner myself and the book I wrote is also entitled ‘El Corredor’,” says Zissler, explaining what the Spanish name is all regarding.
digital age
In his new studio, the passionate sound engineer now has a 45 square meter, state-of-the-art recording room with an adjoining 20 square meter control room.
The acoustics of the room itself are extremely important: “No matter how good the equipment you have, if the acoustics aren’t right, the recording won’t work either,” explains Zissler: Even large, bulky technology such as a mixing console is no longer necessary these days – Most things are already done digitally anyway, high-quality technology and good ears are important, he adds.
Sound, Text and Vocals
In addition to classic sound recordings, singing lessons and writing workshops are also offered in “El Corredor”. Together with Charlotte Bolognato, Zissler contributes his experience as a lyricist and author: “We offer people, from amateurs to professionals, professional writing training. We also support songwriters in their search for brilliant ideas for their songs,” enthuses Zissler , who himself worked as an editor for 32 years.
Classic to Hard Rock
The El Corrdor has already attracted a number of well-known bands, speakers and singers to its microphones: from the well-known television announcer Otte Clemens to hard rock bands such as the Spooky Alex Reeds and the harpist Claudia Mantovani, a wide variety of genres were already represented.
Zissler is not only active behind the microphone, but also in front of it. With his own band “Sirens Harbor” he makes the violin sing in addition to his voice. In general, the passionate sound engineer doesn’t do anything that he doesn’t like himself: “I always have fun and enjoy what I do, it would be fair neither to myself nor to the customer to accept an order that I don’t like,” says Zissler. “I’m currently recording a rap/hip-hop duo and I’ll tell you one thing: the two are really good – but hopefully there’ll be more regarding that in the summer,” he concludes with a brief look at his latest project.
