A few months before the release of another highly anticipated RPG from the publisher, Final Fantasy XVIwhich will serve as one of the biggest PS5 exclusives of the year, the next Octopath Traveller II will take up the ingredients that made the success of a first part as original as it is attractive.

Arts and death

The first quality of the title, developed by the team behind one of the big successes on 3DS, Bravely Default, remains primarily graphic. Or rather, should we say artistic, so much the skilful mix between pixel art and 3D, suffused with various visual effects, gives an irresistible charm to the whole.

On the playability side, we keep the principle of a team with heterogeneous talents, with eight new characters for this sequel. And therein lies the charm of this adventure, which changes according to your decisions, your favorite heroes or heroines, favoring an empirical approach (and therefore a good lifespan). The fights are also the occasion for spectacular moments, making full use of this unique 2D/3D rendering.

Symphonic journey

Moreover, it would be difficult not to already praise the quality of the musical compositions accompanying these debuts. We find the initial composer ofOctopath TravellerYasunori Nishiki, already present in the choral work constituted by the soundtrack of Final Fantasy VII Remake, notably. Adventure with multiple branches, quality artistic and musical direction, the demo has all the ingredients to make you crack, with this little extra detail that always pleases: its backup will be compatible with the final game.
