The Consulate General of the Czech Republic will be permanently closed in Yekaterinburg – February 17, 2023

In fact, the Czech Embassy in Yekaterinburg suspended work in March 2022, but has now closed completely.

We asked Mikhail Maltsev, president of the Ural Tourism Association, to tell us what this will mean for us.

– Previously, this consulate was one of the most active. We created working groups together with Chekhtourism and other departments, they contributed to the promotion of the Czech product to our market. On average, the Czech consulate issued regarding 30,000 visas, which was a colossal figure. They worked both with individuals and with accredited tour operators, Mikhail Maltsev explained to E1.RU. — Despite the extremely difficult political conditions, our relations with the Czech Republic are still good at the level of business and people, and if the situation normalizes, they will easily be restored, I mean relations in the field of tourism.
