Australia increases the visas available for young Peruvians in the Work & Holiday program | TRENDS

The government of Australia has announced a 30% increase in the available places in the visa program (subclass 462), aimed at young Peruvians between the ages of 18 and 30 who wish to travel, study and work for up to 12 months in the oceanic country.

The Department of Internal Affairs specified that this from 1,500 to 1,950 visas, it will be in force during the period from July 2022 to June 30, 2023.

For 2022-23 only, there will be a 30% cap increase in the number of seats available for travelers from countries with which Australia has a Work and Holiday visa agreement (subclass 462) with cap″, indicated the Australian authorities.

The program allows young Peruvians to take short-term jobs in Australia to pay for their stay, as well as study for up to four months and travel to and from Australia as many times as you want Also, they can extend your visa Work and Holiday for if they carry out at least three months of work in the field.

The application process costs AUD 510 (regarding US$356) and can take up to three months.

Since October 2017 it is possible to access the Work and Vacation visa (Work & Holiday) under the agreement that Australia and Peru signed in May of that same year.
