Sports Medicine Center is ready to serve and care for the athletes of the Valley

The governor of Valle del Cauca, Clara Luz Roldán, made official the reopening of the Sports Medicine Center that will attend Valle del Cauca athletes to support their preparation and care for their physical condition for the 2023 National and Paranational Games.

At this center, athletes will receive the care of seven sports doctors, 33 physiotherapists, 17 physical trainers, nine sports psychologists, together with professionals in dentistry, speech therapy, cardiology, orthopedics and nutrition.

“We feel immense pride that this medical center opens its doors in better conditions because our health professionals deserve a better workplace and our athletes all the best conditions,” said the president.

The adaptation of spaces was carried out, preserving the original structure, heritage and legacy of the 1971 Pan American Games. In addition, roofs, structure, lighting, electrical system, bathrooms, doors, green areas and facilities in general were repaired.

“This center has been an emblem that has allowed us to continue being leaders at the national level. More than 100 professionals will be here guaranteeing care in the areas of physiotherapy, nursing, and biomechanics because we also carry out investigative processes to improve the sports performance of each of our athletes”, said Dayra Faisury Dorado, manager of lndervalle.

Since its creation, the Indervalle Sports Medicine Center has been a great platform for high-achieving athletes in the region in terms of physical and mental recovery. Processes that are of vital importance at a time when Valle Oro Puro athletes are preparing to seek the Bicampeonato of the national jousts.

“For us athletes, the medical part of the sport is very important, having this renovated medicine center is a great support with its areas of health, nutrition and psychology,” said Juan Fernando Ocampo, an athlete from the Valle del Cauca League of Underwater Activities, while Patricia Quiñónez , a parafencing athlete, assured that “it is very important because we are going to be in optimal conditions, we are going to have doctors watching over us. I thank Governor Clara Luz Roldán for reopening this medical center.”
