Hamdallaye pharmacy: Abdoul Karim Diallo shot dead (Family)

Abdoul Karim Diallo, a 19-year-old 10th grade student, was shot in the head this Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Hamdallaye pharmacy during the demonstration called by the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC). His family accuses the police of having opened fire on their child who passed away on the spot.

In the family at Hamdallaye pharmacy, there is consternation. Informed of his death, his grandmother Fatoumata Binta Diallo maintains that Abdoul Karim Diallo had not come out for the demonstration. According to him, his grandson rode a Taximoto from the morning until 3 p.m., the time at which Karim received the ball. “When he brought in his motorcycle, I told him to come and eat. I came home, when I left, he was already gone. It was around 3 p.m. that he was shot in the head. It was his friend, who he was with, who informed me. Afterwards, they took him to drop him off at the Jean Paul 2 hospital. The whole family left to see the body except me since I am hypertensive. So I mightn’t see the body. They took the body to Ignatius Deen. Right now his uncle is there.” she said with tears in her eyes.

The old woman accuses the police of having opened fire on her grandson: “Whoever shot my son, as he did on purpose, I will never forgive him. As it is the will of God, I accept” she said.

At the scene of the tragedy behind the former headquarters of the NFD, the victim was arrested with his friend Elhadj Ousmane Barry. He claims that it was a red beret that opened fire on his friend who died on the spot. He indicates that for now, according to the family, the body has been taken to Ignace Deen Hospital.
