What is a real estate broker?
The profession of real estate broker consists of selling or buying real estate on behalf of owners. Brokers are mandated to analyze the real estate market, but also to perform all administrative tasks.
The objective of the position is to simplify the procedures for investors, to find the best offers, to sell a property as soon as possible at the best price and with the least inconvenience.

One of the most important skills to be a good real estate broker is interpersonal skills. All his work revolves around this, because he is constantly in contact with people, whether they are tenants, owners or even real estate agencies. He must have a good ability to work in a team.

A relationship of trust with the client
When visiting premises, apartments or houses, the broker must be presentable, because the potential buyer must have confidence in the person who will present the goods to him. It is therefore important to have a neat presentation, to be irreproachable, but also to be trustworthy. Indeed, clients who wish to invest their money in real estate need to fully trust the person advising them.
The meaning of negotiation
In order to organize the visits, the broker will first have to do a market analysis, that is to say prospect several properties and then compare them, then choose those which correspond best. For this, the commercial sense is very important, because he will have to negotiate with the seller on the price of the property and the conditions of sale.
Formation
To be admitted to the real estate broker exam, there are requirements to be met. The first is to have a 3-year CFC, maturity, diploma, HES and at least 3 years of practice in the real estate sector, including 2 years in Switzerland. If the exam is passed, the candidates obtain the title of real estate broker.
Having a good relationship is the key to succeed as a real estate broker. This puts customers at ease who are more easily trusted.
