Actress Mamta Mohandas said that she should have acted in the Telugu film Arundhati starring Anushka Shetty in 2009. The actor said that the director of Arundhati movie does not have the ability to make a big movie and therefore did not act because many people told him to withdraw from the movie.
But Mamta said that later when she acted in Rajamouli’s Yamadonka, she told him regarding it and he said that what he had done was a big mistake. The actor said that he felt very sad not to act in Arundhati following that. Mamta said these things in an interview given to IndiaGlitz Tamil.
“During the photo shoot of a Telugu film, Rajamouli sir noticed me singing songs. So I stayed in Chennai for two more days. Rakhi sang Rakhi song. Later I acted in Rajamouli sir’s Yamadonka.
Then he asked me why I didn’t act in Telugu earlier. That day I told him regarding Arundhati not acting in the movie. I had agreed to do the film first.
Later, many people told me that the director who is directing Aruddhati is not capable of making such a big film so back off. I withdrew because of the tension that day.
Rajamouli sir heard the story and told me that what I did was the biggest mistake. Because he told me that the life of the actress who played the lead role in that movie changed later.
I recently completed a film called Live. A Telugu film is also coming up. “I will make up for the loss of Arundhati through that Telugu film,” said Mamta Mohandas.
