On the morning of February 16, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the meeting to appraise the planning of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province in the period of 2021 – 2030 with a vision to 2050 took place. In addition to oil and gas, Ba Ria – Vung Tau also has a lot of opportunities in the energy industry, logistics, and a number of other industries and fields to organize into a competitive and dynamic area for development.

At the same time, Ba Ria – Vung Tau needs to be identified as one of the four key regions of the South along with Ho Chi Minh City. Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Secretary of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee affirmed that, in general, the planning of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, has been approved by the province. comply with the provincial planning process in Clause 4, Article 16 of the Law on Planning and other relevant laws. On this occasion, Director General Dinh Trong Thang also suggested that the province still needs to restructure the provincial planning report on the basis of sticking to the content of the provincial planning specified in Article 27 of the Planning Law and Article 28 of Decree No. 37/2019/ND-CP dated May 7, 2019 of the Government, and at the same time take a closer look at the proposals and recommendations in the Provincial Planning such as accelerating investment in infrastructure connecting the province with Ho Chi Minh City Minh, including railway lines; consider adjusting the allocation of land targets to the province so that the province can perform the tasks assigned in Resolution No. 24 of the Politburo on regional development.

Review and update the investment roadmap for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway and the ring road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City; clarify the basis of the planning National Highway 56 in the province is divided into 2 sections with different scales.
