A tragic accident occurred this Wednesday evening at the border of De Haan and Houtave. Around 10 p.m., a man driving his BMW was involved in a head-on collision. The 60-year-old victim did not survive the shock, as it was violent.
In the other Porshe brand vehicle were three people of Polish nationality. All three were injured and taken to hospital.
The victim is a docker who works in Zeebrugge, he is from Oudenburg. This Thursday, we learn that the man was working on the day of the tragedy. It is possible that he quit work. One of his colleagues was barely 200 meters behind him when the accident happened.
According to initial findings, the victim probably deviated from his trajectory. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of this fatal accident.
