Members of the Task Force of the Enforcement and Control Team of the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Department launched an operation to combat dangerous driving and speeding in the region this morning (16th). The operation period was the rush hour for commuting, and the road traffic was heavy. The police officers found a private car driving at high speed along the eastbound direction of the Kwun Tong Bypass along the Kwun Tong Bypass and interspersed with the traffic. The private car was successfully stopped in front of a housing estate at No. 99 Cha Kwo Ling Road.
Driver arrested for speeding and dangerous driving
After preliminary investigation, the 36-year-old male driver surnamed Lin was arrested on suspicion of “speeding” and “dangerous driving”. He has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in mid-March. The police appeal to all motorists that speeding and dangerous driving are serious crimes, and if convicted, they may be sentenced to imprisonment and suspension of license. The Police will continue to step up law enforcement actions to crack down on related offenses and protect the safety of the public. Drivers should not defy the law.
