The Danish fashion and lifestyle brand founded in 2014 by sisters Julie and Marie Skall Shall Studio presented her Skall Studio Fall Winter 2023 Collection as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week AW23. The collection takes us on a magical mystery tour – through the English highlands, where the magic of nature unfolds. From the whispering of the flowing streams to the eagle that flies over the hills and watches everything. Inspired by the American artist Georgia O’Keeffe and Danish jewelry designer Arje Griegst, both driven by the mystery of nature, the collection underscores how nature, humans and animals are magically connected.
Skall Studio AW23 Collection
Already in the founding year 2014, the sisters Julie and Marie Skall attached great importance to sustainability and transparency in production. The collections were free of fur and leather and the styles were made of natural materials, which are intended for several seasons. The Skall Studio AW23 Collection includes heavyweight wool coats made from 100% recycled wool, the color of which is obtained without dyeing. The knitwear is made from wool from Danish sheep and the waistcoats are made from baby corduroy. Ideal for throwing on and for a walk in the countryside to discover the little wonders of nature.
As always, the Danish trademark knitwear is part of the collection. This season in the form of heavy cable knits and a particular style inspired by the sweater the Skall sisters’ grandfather used to wear. The knitwear is made in Denmark in one of the last remaining spinning mills and then knitted together in one of the last remaining knitting mills to support local production and craftsmanship. The video of the show can be viewed at the link.
New Denim
In the AW 23 collection, Skall Studio introduces denim. The denim is GOTS certified and made in Turkey with Jeanologia washing technology that captures the specific effects of water, CO2, chemicals and worker exposure. The impact depends on each batch that is EIM scored. The denim range includes a shirt and two denim versions for a classic boyfriend look. And there is always a bit of India in the collections. This season in the form of raven dresses and shirts with embroideries, paisley and block print inspirations for a look that is both elegant and mysterious.
Sustainability is also very important in this collection and so all models are made of natural materials and 98% are even made of monofibres. So we can look forward to the next fashionable and sustainable winter.
