Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, expressed his happiness over the signs of resolving the crisis in the Ethiopian Church, with the return of those who erred and tried to secede from the Church to their mother church.
This came at the conclusion of His Holiness’s sermon at the weekly Wednesday meeting today, pointing out that the Church today celebrates the martyrs of the modern era, a feast approved by the Holy Synod eight years ago.
The hadeeth was as follows:
“We pray and thank our Lord that the crisis that the Ethiopian Church was exposed to showed signs of a solution in it, as those who made a mistake and wanted to separate and distance themselves and divide the Church and the violence that took place, decided to return to their mother church. The Ethiopian Church matters very much to us, and it is our sister, and it is enough that the Coptic Church It has been established since the fourth century AD.
He added: “Today we celebrate a feast that has become in our church for several years, according to the decision of the Holy Synod, which is the “Feast of the Modern Martyrs”, and we chose this day because it is a memorial to the martyrs of Libya who were martyred regarding eight years ago.
