WhatsApp will add a very practical option

The messaging app is preparing to roll out a new feature for conversations. Which will allow users to “put aside” certain messages that are supposed to disappear over time.

Finding old messages on a conversation can be tedious, especially when they are destined to disappear. According WABetaInfothe messaging service has developed a new feature that allows pinning important messages.

In fact, WhatsApp has been working on this improvement for almost a year already. However, employees of WABetaInfo noticed that the feature was entering its testing phase with its deployment in the beta version of WhatsApp.

Backed up, but not indelible

Concretely, it seems that a new section is appearing in the options menu. Thus, users should have access to an option called “Kept messages” in addition to “Favorite messages”, which already had a similar use. It’s worth mentioning that the feature doesn’t save flagged messages indefinitely and only affects messages that are doomed to disappear. Indeed, the authors retain the possibility of deleting any of their messages.

On this subject, all the messages present in the section will be listed, probably by date or by author. Some WhatsApp users may have already noticed the section appearing, however WABetaInfo specifies that it is not accessible at the moment. Quite simply because the test phase is still in progress.

Finally, please note that the feature will not be available to everyone. WhatsApp often makes choices before rolling out its updates more widely, and message retention is no exception. This time, Android users have priority over iOS followers. Don’t panic, however, Apple’s devices should follow quickly.
