Strong emotion within the RTBF house. This Wednesday, we learned of the death of one of the collaborators of the public channel. Alain Dremiere actually committed suicide by jumping from the tenth floor of the offices.
A moment of shock and a family tragedy for the relatives and for the colleagues of the man who had worked for RTBF for more than 20 years.
During the television news, we felt a very strong emotion when Ophélie Fontana wanted to pay tribute to him. At the end of the news, her voice trembling, the journalist tried to do the best she might. “We must inform you of the death of our journalist colleague, Alain Dremiere”, she began, somehow. “The editorial staff of RTBF is in mourning today. Alain worked for us for 20 years. He has always been a passionate man, since his beginnings on the benches of the university where I rubbed shoulders with him for the first time. We are very sad today. We think very much of his wife, daughters and family.”
Married and father of a family, Alain Dremiere was also the “digital” editor-in-chief. “Faced with this tragedy, it is time for sadness and meditation, out of respect for what he was, his family and his many friends and many friends”communicated the RTBF, this Wednesday morning.
