Outstanding loans from corporate banks to small and micro enterprises reached 59.7 trillion yuan ($8.76 trillion) at the end of 2022, according to data released by the country’s top banking regulator on Wednesday.
Non-performing loans from commercial banks reached 3 trillion yuan at the end of December last year, down 8.3 billion yuan on a quarterly basis, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The non-performing loan rate of commercial banks was 1.63% at the end of December, down 0.02 percentage points from the end of September.
The amount of assets of China’s banking institutions in local and foreign currencies reached 379.4 trillion yuan at the end of last year, up 10 percent year on year.
