Parents of Yen Hoa Primary School worried about fire

“We are still very worried because we cannot predict the scale of the fires. We hope the school needs to strictly follow the regulations on ensuring fire prevention so that children can go to school with peace of mind,” a parent shared.

According to information from the People’s Committee of Cau Giay District, the fire was determined to take place in the parking garage area of officials, teachers and staff of Yen Hoa Primary School.

As soon as the fire was detected, the school immediately informed the fire department and the authorities to promptly extinguish the fire, and at the same time moved the students to ensure safety.

After receiving the information, the People’s Committee of Cau Giay District directed the People’s Committee of Yen Hoa Ward to coordinate with the fire prevention and fighting units present at the scene to carry out fire fighting.

By 12:05, the fire was extinguished. The fire damaged some tables and chairs. Fortunately no human damage.

Mr. Nguyen Khai (Cau Giay district), a parent of a child attending the school, said that he received a notice from the class teacher regarding the incident due to an electrical fault this followingnoon.

“At that time, the teacher also informed that although the incident had been handled, the students were assured of safety, but the electrical system of the classes needed to be checked once more, so the students took a break this followingnoon,” Mr. Khai said.

After receiving the notice, Mr. Khai left the office to pick up his son immediately. Other parents who, for various reasons, might not pick up their children, were informed by the homeroom teacher that they would manage their children at the school.

“Thankfully, today’s incident did not cause major damage, especially without affecting the safety of students and teachers. However, as parents sending their children to school, we are still very worried because we cannot predict the scale of the fires. We hope that the school needs to strictly follow the regulations on ensuring fire prevention so that they can send their children to school with peace of mind.”

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.

In the immediate future, the People’s Committee of Cau Giay district has directed the Department of Education and Training to guide the school to coordinate with the authorities in inspecting the electrical system and fire protection system.
