Statistics from the Vietnam Railways Administration show that there are 5,023 crossings across the railway network at the same level between road and railway, of which there are 1,510 crossings, accounting for 30% and 3,513 freeway passages. open, accounting for 70%.

“Implementing the project in the past time, the work of reducing, narrowing, and eliminating self-opening passages on railway lines has been focused on by local authorities and related stakeholders with solutions. specifically. Most of the dangerous self-opening walkways have been applied with immediate measures to ensure railway traffic safety such as putting up warning signs ‘pay attention to trains’, narrowing the width of the aisles, organizing a warning. traffic safety …,” the leader of the Vietnam Railways Department assessed.

In addition, to realize the above project, some localities have actively invested in funds to close the fence to remove dangerous self-opening paths, maintain traffic safety, support site clearance for projects to build a system of collection roads, vertical isolation fences railhelping people’s travel to be convenient and safe.

However, the Vietnam Railway Administration admitted that there were still 11,543 positions of railway land violations, 5,812 positions infringing the protection scope of railway signal information works.

On that basis, the Vietnam Railways Administration has suggested that provinces with railways pass through prioritize investment funds to perform jobs under their local responsibilities such as building fences, collecting roads, auxiliary works. other support to eliminate dangerous self-opening passageways, and at the same time clear the works that violate the railway traffic safety corridor in the locality.

With the self-opening path, currently managed by the locality, according to the roadmap to 2025, it will have to be completely removed.

In 2023, the Vietnam Railways Corporation will sign a contract to order and install additional signaling equipment at 270 crossings, divided into 65 works with a total capital of 400 billion VND from the State budget.
