American scientists have learned to control HIV with a single injection – Knife

American scientists achieved Guaranteed control of HIV without side effects with a new treatment method. The results were presented in monkeys, whose immune system is very similar to that of humans.

Researchers were trying to find a new form of HIV treatment that might provide long-term protection instead of complex antiretroviral therapy. It is planned that in the future a person will be able to give one or two injections per year in order to successfully control the disease.

Scientists used the drug cabotegravir and introduced it into a special subcutaneous implant. In this case, the drug is released gradually, ensuring a gradual and safe delivery of the drug to the blood.

An experiment in macaques showed that one injection gave complete protection once morest the development of infection for five to six months. Further research should confirm the effectiveness of the technology for humans.
