Rental car, toll, petrol, here is the list of expense reports that four Toulouse passengers on flight AF6124 want to be reimbursed.
Passengers on board AF6124, departing from Paris-Orly, towards Toulouse-Blagnac had to turn around following 30 minutes of travel, this Saturday, February 11. The plane might not land in Toulouse because the runways were closed. In question: the strike of the staff of the general direction of civil aviation (DGAC).

EXCLUSIVE TESTIMONY. Crying and panic on the plane: the Paris-Toulouse flight turns around in the middle of the journey
Alexandra and her companion Walter, as well as Laura and her sister, four of the passengers who did not know each other at the start, met when they went to complain at the AirFrance counter following their flight was canceled and then postponed to more late. “We mightn’t wait any longer and be taken for fools. The four of us decided to rent a rental car because we had children waiting for us. We mightn’t wait until the next day at 4 p.m. to return knowing that we were not even sure that it took off at the scheduled time”, explains Alexandra.
Nearly 1,000 euros in costs
The four Toulouse residents approached AirFrance KLM in search of reimbursement. “It’s almost 1,000 euros in total between the rental car, gasoline, tolls… I thought I would win my case following sending them all the supporting documents […], says Walter. Those who stayed behind received compensation, including hotel accommodation and taxi fares. Why can’t we, those who managed to get home, be reimbursed? This is the question Walter asks Air France. The company replied that: “As the circumstances of the delay are beyond our control, the European regulations do not provide for compensation. I very much regret that you had to give up your journey. Nevertheless, in these circumstances, I cannot give an favorable response to your requests”.
Air France’s response
We also questioned Air France, which gave us the same answer: “Air France confirms that the crew of flight AF6124 on February 11, 2023 connecting Paris-Orly to Toulouse decided to turn around shortly following takeoff due to an unannounced strike by air traffic controllers at Toulouse airport prevented its landing at its destination. The aircraft landed normally at 8:36 p.m. (local time) at Paris-Orly. Customers were taken care of by Air France teams at the airport. Solutions for accommodation and/or flight postponement the same day or the next day have been offered to them. Air France regrets the inconvenience caused by this movement of air traffic controllers and recalls that flight safety is its imperative. absolute”.
