Bui Tien Dung scored and… an own goal!
Both CAHN and Viettel Club are very thirsty for points in tonight’s match at Hang Day Stadium. While Viettel Club does not know how to win this season (draw with Hanoi club 1-1 and draw with Hong Linh Ha Tinh 0-0 in round 1 and 2, respectively); CAHN also only had 3 points / 2 matches (won Topenland Binh Dinh 5-0, lost to Hanoi club 0-2 in rounds 1 and 2).
Compared to the past 2 matches in the V.League playing with a 4-4-2 diagram, coach Paulo Foiani decided to use a scheme with 3 central defenders when playing Viettel. Specifically, goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung; the trio of central defenders Tien Dung (deviated to the left) – Almada – Tuan Duong (deviated to the right). Two wingers are Doan Van Hau (left), Ho Tan Tai (right). The trio of midfielders Trong Long – Jesus Silva – Van Vu; striker duo Xuan Nam – Rodrigues.
On the other side of the front line, Viettel Club plays with the familiar 4-4-2 diagram: Goalkeeper Van Phong; the quartet of defenders Duy Thuong – Thanh Binh – Bui Tien Dung – Phan Tuan Tai; midfield quartet Nham Manh Dung – Jaha – Hoang Duc – Tien Anh; Geovane – Jefferson striker duo.
In the first 10 minutes of the match, both teams played quite cautiously and there was no noticeable situation. In the 13th minute, Viettel FC was disadvantaged when striker Geovane was injured and might not continue playing (Nguyen Duc Hoang Minh came on for 16, Nham Manh Dung was pushed to kick the pair with Jerferson).
But in luck, when Viettel had not yet had time to replace and kick with 10 people on the field, they had a goal to open the score in the 15th minute.
Hoang Duc perfectly crosses the ball from the right wing for captain Bui Tien Dung to join the dangerous header attack to knock down goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung to open the scoring.
Losing first, but CAHN proved to be very stuck in how to deploy the attacking ball. The midline with the trio of Trong Long – Jesus Silva – Van Vu proved to be inferior to Hoang Duc – Jaha. The two wings, Doan Van Hau and Ho Tan Tai also did not show much.
In fact, if the finishing was more accurate, Viettel Club would have had a table to increase the gap. The most unfortunate situation was Nham Manh Dung’s escape from Jaha’s delicate long pass.
But when facing goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, Nham Manh Dung shot the ball over the bar. In the injury time of the first half, Nham Manh Dung once once more shot the ball narrowly over the crossbar.
After the break, coach Paulo Foiani made 3 consecutive changes to improve the attack power for CAHN with the appearance of Van Thanh, Phan Van Duc, Van Toan replacing Bui Tien Dung, Xuan Nam, Van Vu.
CAHN tried to increase the pressure and everything was more favorable for them when Viettel Club suffered another loss when Hoang Duc was injured and had to leave the field on a stretcher, Duc Chien came on to replace.
But very “strange”, once once more Viettel Club was lucky because only regarding 5 minutes following entering the field, in minute 62, Duc Chien had a decisive shot to raise the score to 2-0 for Viettel.
In this situation, there were 2 balls on the field and some spectators reacted to the referee. However, this was the right decision of the referee team when the second ball appeared in the Viettel field, close to the corner flagpole and did not interfere with Duc Chien’s dribbling and finishing situation in the penalty area of CAHN.
About 30 minutes left of the match, CAHN still tried to attack to find the equalizer. 73 minutes when Rodrigues had the opportunity to face goalkeeper Van Phong, but he ended up going out in a position of kicking in the inner circle… easier!
Drama appeared in the 89th minute when Doan Van Hau slapped the ball quite… harmlessly from the left wing, but captain Bui Tien Dung headed his own goal, helping CAHN have a 1-2 equalizer.
This is also the final score of the match because in injury time, CAHN might not find the equalizer.
