Ferrari presented this Tuesday el SF-23the new car for the Formula 1 World Cup, with a staging different from that of the rest of the teams, since the Spanish Carlos Sainz and the Monegasque Charles Leclerc they premiered it on the track.
It was not a presentation to use that of Ferrari, which gathered in Maranello a hundred fans of the Italian team to witness the premiere of the new car, a single-seater that maintains its traditional aesthetic, without surprises, in which red dominates and stands out from the rest of the components.
”It is very beautiful, more than last year. And I already thought it was impossible to be prettier. Now we are going to start with the small things: the brakes, the lengths… The first impressions”, said Sainz regarding the new car.
”It is unique to be here. It’s amazing to have this stage in Maranello with all the history it has, Ferrari is the only team with this atmosphere”, he added.
‘We will get better until the end’
The last race of last season took place on November 20: “It has been a long winter break. I have been on vacation in December but in January my body asked me for action and we are already prepared for everything that is to come”.
Sainz has a new season ahead of him in which he will face Leclerc once more, with whom he confirmed have a great relationship backcountry.
”Normally we are very close (in times), but I will always try to be the fastest. Whenever we are on the track we compete, it is the good thing to have a good relationship off and on the trackalways with respect,” he explained.
This was reinforced by Leclerc himself: “We will make each other better until the end”.
The Monegasque driver, who finished second in the drivers’ championship last year, just behind Max Verstappen (RedBull), made it clear what was your goal, your expectations and aspirations.
”I can’t wait to start the World Cup. 2022 was a step up compared to 2021 and 2020, so I’m looking forward to starting this year. The goal is to win. The feeling of winning is what motivates me. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car and hopefully I can win,” she expressed.
The Monegasque completed the first two laps of the car on the circuit.”I felt good, everything went perfect”, he said as soon as he got out of the car. “With two laps it is complicated but I have already given the ‘feedback’ to the mechanics”, she pointed out.
‘The team goes first’
The Frenchman Fred Vasseur, the new general manager of the Ferrari team, insisted on his main idea of the season, in which the team will be above both Sainz and Leclerc.
“I don’t care who wins, I care to have Ferrari winning. We will push both equally, but the team comes first,” said Vasseur, who joined Ferrari in early January following his predecessor, Italian Mattia Binotto, resigned.
“At the moment, since I’ve arrived, everything is intense, you can feel the pressure,” he added.
In addition, he assured that there is a lot of enthusiasm for the season and that work has been done on the reliability of the carsomething that complicated last season.
”My contribution in this car it is very small Because I just got here, but there’s a great feeling. That feeling is important for motivation ahead of the season. It is no secret that last year the reliability of the engine was not the best, we have worked well this winter to improve this aspect”, he concluded.
