If the situation may surprise, it is not new. As we already explained to you in 2021, shopping is indeed more expensive in Wallonia than in Flanders. And the reason behind this difference is simple: there is much less competition between Walloon supermarkets. In some Flemish stores, such as Albert Heijn and Jumbo, the prices are so competitive that Colruyt is forced to adjust its prices.
