At what age can someone retire following playing and playing football for decades? It will be difficult to answer if the question is for Neil Warnock, who left the field last April saying that he is no longer able to do it and is ending his training as he is past 70 years of age. Warnock is returning to the coaching role following calling it quits last April. That too, he became the coach of Huddersfield, which plays in the English football league just below the Premier League.
Warnock broke the record in English professional football in 2021 by controlling 1601 matches. He retired in April 2022 following continuing as a coach once more. However, Warnock’s return comes as there is no other way to save Huddersfield, who are under threat of relegation in the EFL.
Warnock coached the same club in 1993-95. On that day, the team was promoted to the second division.
Warnock started his career as coach of local team Gainsborough Trinity in 1980 and has already coached 16 teams.
