News 24 | The Crown Prince directs the allocation of 100 million square meters of land for the city of Riyadh

Today, Monday, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail, participated in the government communication conference, and talked regarding the allocation of large-scale lands for the city of Riyadh under the guidance of the Crown Prince, the start of pumping a large amount of housing units, and the announcement of the launch date of public transport buses.

Al-Hogail announced during the conference that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman directed the allocation of 100 million square meters of land for the city of Riyadh and some cities that witness a population density and high prices.

He added that the National Housing Company announced earlier regarding the suburb of Al-Fursan and the second phase of the suburb of Khuzam, which includes 80 thousand housing units, and its prices start from 350 thousand riyals per unit, indicating that these suburbs will provide all services and luxury for Saudi families, as the Khuzam oasis will include the largest garden following King Salman Park, with an area of ​​5 million square meters.

Al-Hogail explained, in the presence of the Acting Minister of Commerce and Information, Majid Al-Qasabi, that more than 1.4 million people have benefited from the housing subsidy provided by the ministry, pointing to the start of pumping more than 430 housing units.

He pointed out that building a sustainable housing environment is carried out through 4 main axes, the first of which is the housing financing and support policy, followed by the supply support policy, while the third axis includes the policy of developing regulations and legislation, and the last of these axes is the service development policy, indicating that the ministry aims Pumping 365,000 housing units until 2025, to meet the demands in the housing program.

With regard to the “Joud” platform, he noted that the platform served 8,000 families through the two paths of providing units and rent support, stressing that the total contributions to the platform exceeded one billion riyals during the year 2022.

Regarding public transport, he said that within less than a month, new buses will be launched to ease traffic congestion in Riyadh, and there will be new axial roads and an increase in the capacity of existing roads, expecting that public transport will contribute to reducing traffic density by 10-15%.

He added that the ministry is working with the Saudi Central Bank “SAMA” on monetary policies that would contribute to mitigating the impact of high financing margins, in order to provide the best services to citizens.

In response to a question regarding dealing with the low salaries of the “sakani” beneficiaries, and the subsequent payment problems, “Al-Hogail” confirmed that the default rate in the Kingdom is less than 0.5%, and thus is considered one of the lowest rates in the world.
