Several onlookers and fans have taken to social media to accuse the Barbadian singer of lip-syncing.
Although she hasn’t done a solo live performance since 2016, Rihanna didn’t seem fazed by her return to the stage. She has performed some of her most popular songs like “Umbrella” and “Work” in just 13 minutes.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, the ‘We Found Love’ singer announced she was pregnant with her second child, holding her stomach during the show.

Unfortunately, the impressive gravity-defying performance was no match for the pop star’s talent according to several netizens. Many have accused him of miming the majority of his songs to pre-recorded tracks rather than performing them live.
The worst Lip-sync job I’ve seen in a long time. Worst halftime show I’ve seen. #Rihanna

Could have at least brought someone out to lip-sync battle Rihanna and make this interesting. #SuperBowl

Rihanna is one of many pop stars accused of lip-syncing at the Super Bowl halftime show. Katy Perry and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were also accused of lip-syncing during their respective performances at the sporting event.
However, lip-synching during the Super Bowl is not the scam it appears to be. Per NFL policy, performers’ halftime rehearsals are pre-recorded live, so they can sing along to the music as much or as little as they want. Many therefore choose to devote their energy to the often grueling choreographed routine.
