In the area of the village of Eremeytsevo, Myshkinsky district, Yaroslavl region, gas caught fire following the depressurization of the pipeline, Kommersant was told in the department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Yaroslavl region. The gas escaped and ignited.
Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta clarified that a rupture with fire occurred on the backup line of the underwater crossing of the Ukhta-Torzhok-3 gas pipeline across the Volga River.
A column of flames is visible in a video on social media. According to eyewitnesses, the fire was visible at least 10 km from the place of ignition – from Myshkin and the village of Volga. 16 rescuers and 4 pieces of equipment went to the place. The fire has now stopped.
“At the moment, burning is completely eliminated. The gas supply has been cut off. There is no threat to the population. The gas pipeline is transit, which means that the situation will not affect the gas supply of the region in any way,” said the head of the region, Mikhail Evraev.
This is the second incident in a day. Today, February 13, early in the morning there was a flare fire at the section of the Transgaz Ukhta gas pipeline in the Nyuksensky district of the Vologda region.
