Equipment manufacturer Marelli leaves Tangier for Châtellerault

“This chain will very soon be relocated to the Châtellerault site which will manufacture the same products, confirms to the newspaper The New Republic Denis Chretien, of the CFDT. It will be integrated into the current factory in Châtellerault. In the field, the Châtellerault site is preparing to welcome the establishment of this new chain. The factory is “in the process of making room to be able to implement this new chain. The reasons behind this relocation? “Originally, this relocation was a client decision. Initially, the contract was signed with the PSA group. Then the Stellantis group was formed, which did not have the same strategy and preferred to have everything manufactured on the same site for cost reasons. That of transport in particular. And the overall quantities of manufacture have decreased with a somewhat more sluggish automobile market, ”explains trade unionist Denis Chrétien.
