Emirates News Agency – A 5.8-magnitude earthquake hits the Kuril Islands, Russia

Moscow, February 13 / WAM / An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck near the Kuril Islands in the Russian Far East.

And according to the Geophysical Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in a statement, and according to the “RIA Novosti” news agency, that it monitored today, at (8.56) Moscow time, an earthquake measuring 5.8 degrees on the Richter scale, as the epicenter was at a depth of 101 km and 59 km away. km south of Kuril Island in the Russian Far East.

The statement added: “No material or human damage was recorded and was not felt by the people on Iturup Island.”
