A strike is underway at ORES (Gas and Electricity Network Operators) in Gosselies. Several vans of technicians are lined up around the headquarters located avenue Jean Mermoz. Contacted by RTL info, ORES indicates that field agents (technicians) from all over Wallonia went to Gosselies this morning to protest. Management has been notified in advance.
The site is blocked, and the unions should meet the management at 9:30 am. The heart of the problem, according to ORES, is the wage increase in technical professions requested by the unions. The number of employees participating in this strike is not known. Concretely, repairs and emergency interventions will be maintained as much as possible, certain interventions scheduled at customers’ premises might be postponed.
Several meetings between management and unions have already taken place, without bearing fruit. ORES stresses that the automatic indexation of wages already enables employees to cope with the energy crisis. ORES wishes to maintain a balance between the customer’s bill, which the manager does not want to increase, and the well-being of its employees.
