It turns out that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will weigh more than any previous game released by Nintendo for the Switch console.
There is no doubt that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the biggest release on Nintendo Switch this year. Those who are waiting for this game should be interested in information regarding its size.
- The game tab has been updated in the eShop. Thanks to this, we learned that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom it will occupy 18.2 GB.
- That size is obviously small compared to contemporary PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and S games, but does The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom the biggest title developed by Nintendo with the Switch console in mind.
- For comparison: the previous installment, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, weighs in at 14.4 GB.
- Of course, plenty of bigger games have already appeared on Switch – just mention the 24-gigabyte XCOM 2 collection – but these were ports to other hardware platforms, not games developed with Nintendo’s console in mind from the start.
It’s worth mentioning that size isn’t the only area in which The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will break records. Unfortunately, the game has also become the first title for the Nintendo Switch, which will cost $69.99.
Remember that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will debut on Nintendo Switch on May 12 this year. In addition to the standard edition, a collector’s edition will also be available, which for $129.99 will offer highlights such as an album art, a poster, four brooches, and a steelbook.
The expectations for the game are huge. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild remains one of the highest rated games on current generation consoles – on Metacritic it has an average rating of 97%. Whether the sequel will live up to the hype, we’ll find out in May.
