The Los Angeles Lakers beat the defending champion Golden State Warriors 109-103, with the help of newcomers Roy Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell and Jared Vanderbilt, each of whom scored double digits, in the NBA last night.
LeBron James missed the Lakers for the second consecutive game due to a left foot injury, since he broke Karim Abdul-Jabbar’s record to become the owner of the largest number of points in the history of the league, and Stephen Curry, the Warriors star, missed the third match due to a knee problem.
Dennis Schroeder scored the most for the Lakers, giving him 26 points, and Anthony Davis added 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, as the Lakers got rid of a three-game losing streak.
The Lakers are ranked 13th in the Western Division following 26 victories and 31 defeats, behind the ninth Warriors, who achieved 28 victories compared to 28 losses, amid a fierce struggle to reach the knockout stages for which the first eight teams in the division qualify.
Jordan Paul scored the most in the match with 29 points, including the first 17 points for the Warriors in the fourth quarter, during his team’s lead 96-93, six minutes and 23 seconds before the end.
